Our Timeline of Growth and Improvements:
1984 The birth of Model Label, Inc. With a 6” Mark Andy drum press and a home-made rewinder and 600 dies, a hope, a trusting family and two great partners (Stanley Birer and Ed Fleissner), we were off and running. We occupied about 2,000 square feet on the second floor of a commercial laundry in the small town of Madisonville, Ohio.
1985 First employee hired
1986 First New Press - 7” Comco 6 color water base Cadette
1987 Prepress Camera, Film Developer, Typesetter, Photopolymer plate making system.
1988 Model wins the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute’s “Best Managed Company Award” “North America’s tag and label industry’s most coveted award”
1989 First Macintosh added to replace old prepress technology.
1989 Siat Tape printing press was added to support demand from customers.
1990 Used 10” Mark Andy 6 color press.
1992 Model Label became Model Graphics as we began to do more than just labels
1993 Purchased and moved to a modern 20,000 square foot facility in Cincinnati. Over the next few years other equipment, new and used was added to support growth. Most of our growth came from a single salesperson. We nearly tripled in size as a result of her efforts.
2000 Moved to a newly designed and built 37,500 square foot building in West Chester, OH.
2000 16” Roto Press 8 Color, film and label press installed.
2001 We began replacing older equipment with Roto-Press (later became Nilpeter) and were up to 8 presses and running two shifts within a couple of years.
2004 HP presented a digital press and with the influence of our largest customer and several visits to HP sites we inked a deal for the press and the finisher worth about $880,000 at the time.
2004 By the end of 2004 we were debt free.
2005 HP 4050 installed, and a couple of older presses were sold off as a result.
2009 16” Nilpeter FA 10 Color film and label press installed
2009 Dupont and Esko Plate making technology replaced the older chemical wash system.
2011 Esko awarded Model the first Narrow web converter in America the HiDef Flexo certification.
2012 CEI Inspector with AVT 100% Vision inspect and detect quality system
2014 10” New Mark Andy P5 10 color installed
2015 Stanford Shrink Sleeve equipment
2015 Matt Fleissner joined the family business, effectively making Model a third generation business.
2017 Matt Fleissner was promoted the VP of Sales and Marketing.
2018 Xeikon 3500 20” Digital press and finisher installed.
